Herbicide and Algaecide Treatment in Greenwood Lake – Monday, June 16, 2025

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and the health of Greenwood Lake, the Village of Greenwood Lake will be implementing a targeted aquatic vegetation management program on Monday, June 16, 2025. This work is part of the 2025 Lake Management Program, designed to control invasive and nuisance aquatic plant species and maintain the ecological balance of the lake.

Objective: To reduce and control the spread of invasive aquatic vegetation, specifically:

  • Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum)
  • Water Chestnut (Trapa natans)
  • Fanwort (Cabomba spp.)

Treatment Areas: Designated treatment zones are outlined in the map provided below (attached or posted on the official website).

Treatment Details:

  • Date of Application: Monday, June 16, 2025
  • Authorized Contractor:
    • Tigris Aquatic Services, Licensed and registered with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC Permit No. 18463)
  • Products to be applied:
    • Herbicides:
    • ProcellaCOR EC (florpyrauxifen-benzyl)
    • Clipper (flumioxazin)
    • Algaecide:
    • Cutrine Plus (copper-based)

These products will be applied by certified professionals in accordance with NYSDEC regulations. Necessary permit applications have been submitted to the NYSDEC Bureau of Pesticides, Region 3.
