PUBLIC NOTICE
Herbicide and Algaecide Treatment in Greenwood Lake – August, 2025

  • On Friday, August 22nd, the North Arm and West Arm of the lake will receive a second round of herbicide treatment. There are no swimming restrictions, but we do recommend that you avoid using lake water for watering plants for a short time after treatment. Our shores will also be carefully inspected for algae blooms. Aside from the small bloom in the North Arm earlier this summer — which has since dissipated — no new blooms have been detected.

This work is part of the 2025 Lake Management Program, designed to control invasive and nuisance aquatic plant species and maintain the ecological balance of the lake.

Objective: To reduce and control the spread of invasive aquatic vegetation, specifically:

  • Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum)
