SPECIAL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE BOARD

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Special Meeting of the Village Board of the Village of Greenwood Lake will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Village Hall, 18 Church Street, Greenwood Lake, New York, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following:

Proposed Resolution:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE INTERMUNICIPAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF ORANGE ON BEHALF OF THE STOP-DWI TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM

A summary of the proposed resolution is as follows:

The County of Orange, through its Department of Emergency Services, administers the Special Traffic Options Program for Driving While Intoxicated (STOP-DWI) pursuant to New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The purpose of the program is to coordinate and fund municipal efforts to reduce alcohol-related traffic injuries and fatalities.

The County has made STOP-DWI funds available to the Village of Greenwood Lake. The Village Board proposes to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement with the County to utilize such funds to promote safe and sober roadways within the Village.

The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor to execute the Intermunicipal Agreement, in a form approved by Village legal counsel, and further authorizes the Mayor and designated officials to take all necessary actions to implement the agreement. The resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
